Our History
Dunsborough Town Football Club (DTFC) began its journey in 2004 when local football stalwart and inaugural life-member Tony Plumb brought together a small but passionate group of players to form what would become one of the South West’s most vibrant community sporting clubs. Built on Tony’s belief in connection, inclusivity and community spirit, the club quickly became a meeting place for families, friends and football lovers across the region.
From those early days, DTFC has continued to grow in both size and ambition. The club’s commitment to strong pathways and community involvement saw it rise through the South West football landscape, culminating in major on-field successes including the Premier Men’s League title in 2020 and the Premier Ladies League title in 2022.
Today, DTFC is home to over 400 families, representing one of the fastest-growing community clubs in the region. Our membership spans juniors beginning their football journey, youth players sharpening their skills, and senior athletes representing the town in the region’s highest competitions. Supporters, volunteers and families add even more strength to the club community, reflected in an email list of more than 600 subscribers and a combined social following of more than 1,100 locals.
At its core, DTFC remains exactly what Tony Plumb envisioned back in 2004:
- A club built on passion, community, development and belonging.
- A place where people of all ages and abilities come together to play the world’s game, make lifelong connections and contribute to something bigger than themselves.
- Two decades on, the spirit of the club’s founding years continues to guide everything we do — from nurturing juniors to celebrating senior success — ensuring DTFC will always be a club for the community, powered by the community.
