Championing women’s and girls’ football is a core focus at Dunsborough Town Football Club, reflected in our growing participation, on-field pathways and community recognition. The club proudly delivers initiatives that support female players at every stage of their football journey — from first-time juniors through to senior competition.
A standout initiative is the Jillaroos Tournament, which continues to play an important role in encouraging girls’ participation and creating positive, inclusive entry points into football. Alongside this, female participation at DTFC has continued to increase year on year, with more girls and women playing, volunteering and contributing across the club.
DTFC actively celebrates Female Football Week each year as a feature moment on the club calendar, recognising the players, coaches, volunteers and families who contribute to the success of women’s and girls’ football across the season.
Our commitment has been formally recognised by the game’s governing bodies, with DTFC named a Top Five Finalist in the Championing Female Football category at the Football West Awards, highlighting the club’s leadership at a regional level.
Looking ahead, continued investment in women’s football is supported by new partnerships, with U-Name It Fencing joining as sponsor of the Senior Women’s playing kits, and Dunsborough Marketplace supporting Female Junior kits. The appointment of Mark as Head Coach of the Women’s Premier Team further strengthens the pathway, providing leadership and experience as the women’s programme continues to grow.
