Why Miniroos at DTFC?
At DTFC, we believe that football should start with fun, friendship and discovery — not pressure. Our Miniroos programme is all about letting kids enjoy the game, make new mates, learn basic skills, and be active in a safe, welcoming environment.
We know children grow at different rates — both physically and socially — so Miniroos offers a gentle, inclusive introduction to football. Whether your child’s never kicked a ball or just wants to run around with mates, Miniroos gives them a space to belong, enjoy sport and build confidence.
Miniroos at DTFC isn’t about cut-throat competition. It’s about:
- Smiles, laughter and excitement every session
- Getting familiar with the ball, the field and teammates
- Building motor skills — coordination, balance, agility — through play
- Learning teamwork, cooperation, fair play and respect for others
- Enjoying the outdoors, staying active and healthy
Whether your child is a future star or just wants to have fun running round with friends — Miniroos is a place where they can start their football journey, in a club that values each child just as they are.

How Miniroos Works (at DTFC)
Miniroos runs small-sided football in formats designed for young players. That means smaller teams, smaller fields, modified rules — all to give kids plenty of touches on the ball and make the game easier to enjoy.
Typical sessions are shorter and more engaging than full adult matches — ideal for younger kids’ attention spans and energy levels.
We take care to keep ratios low so coaches can support each child individually, encourage them and help them feel confident.
The aim isn’t to win — it’s to have fun, build skills and create a love for the game. That means lots of ball time, lots of movement, lots of laughter. As one Miniroos philosophy puts it: “Enjoyment is the thing — not winning.”
As children grow, Miniroos provides a gentle pathway towards club football and eventually full-sided junior teams — should they wish to progress.
